Bound

Our limitations and success will be based, most often, on our own expectations for ourselves. What the mind dwells upon, the body acts upon.

Holiday

After a two week break in New York from the 52 I am ready to go again! Thanks for all your patience!

Note:
In this picture it had been raining so heavily the tunnel began to flood, before long we were up to our ankles in muck and water.

Tumbler

This one is more about the story than the image.

For those of you that were around for some of my most trying times…Through a relationship that was more than unhealthy, a custody battle with a person that stripped me of me for nearly a year, an end to a beautiful relationship, and the countless other things that have pierced my life through the years… have most likely heard this comparison.

When I was young we moved into a house that belonged to family friends that were moving to Virginia. They left a few things behind when they moved, a cat that terrorized my sister and I attacking our ankles every time we walked by it and a rock tumbler that collected webs in the garage. I have a hazy memory of my sister and I talking my parents into letting us use it.

We went on our hunt for the rocks that would be place in the tumbler.

For those of you that have never polished rocks before…this is a long and drawn-out process, taking months and many solutions. As a child, it nearly wasn’t worth the wait. Or so I had thought! After an absurd amount of patience…We had our gems!

Pulling you back now to the comparison…
The tumbler has transformed into an unusual illustration for me.

Life’s trials are so similar to the process of the tumbler. Tossing painful solutions (situations) on us, nearly unbearable, tumbling, excruciating sometimes. But each solution and each tumble erases a little more of the dull…adding to our shine…A gem will come into view.

When I look around me I see so much polishing taking place. Whether in finances, health, relationships, or any other circumstance…It’s undeniably there.

And that is why this one is about the story and not the image.

Journey

In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. Our life is a long and arduous quest after Truth. Mahatma Gandhi

Note:
I was in the car for more than 26 hours this weekend…it was good and long…this image is a reflection on conversation that took place during the journey home.
